Dr. Shiva Prasad Kakarla completed his MBBS from M.R. Medical College, Gulbarga, followed by a DOMS from VIMS, Bellary. He further pursued a DNB in Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, and specialized in anterior segment surgeries with a fellowship at Sankara Eye Hospital (1999-2000). His extensive training has built a strong foundation for his expertise in cataract and refractive surgeries.
Dr. Shiva Prasad Kakarla is a highly experienced cataract and refractive surgeon with 26 years of expertise. He has served as a senior consultant at renowned institutions, including Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, Sankara Eye Hospital in Coimbatore, and Bangalore West Lions Eye Hospital. Additionally, he has worked as a visiting Phaco surgeon at Marathas Hospital. Currently, Dr. Prasad is a consultant cataract and refractive surgeon at Prasad Eye Hospital and Modi Eye Hospital in Bangalore, while also performing freelance surgeries, specializing in Phacoemulsification under topical anesthesia. A high-volume cataract surgeon, he can efficiently operate on up to 50 cases in a single day and has performed over 40,000 cataract surgeries, along with 1,000 LASIK and ICL refractive procedures.
